Meeting our Mission

NCHEA’s key goals are to foster collaboration among college and university educators and ensure seamless transfer from lower to upper-division programs between our institutions. We aim to achieve this by helping to improve communication among staff and students at our three institutions.

To this end, NCHEA offers a number of avenues to encourage and support collaboration.

Collaboration Grants

Quick Question.

Could you use $3000 for a project you want to put on for the students?

NCHEA Awards grant up to $3,000.00 every semester to faculty, staff, administrators and community groups or organizations invested in helping our students successfully transfer to a four-year institution. .

Grant Highlights

All three NCHEA member institutions must be represented and must benefit from the Collaboration Grant.

Funding is available up to $3,000. Approved applications may be fully or partially funded.

Collaboration Grant applications are accepted for consideration twice a year.

Our deadlines next deadline is April 15th.

 Grant Eligibility

Any full-time or part-time classroom and non-classroom faculty (e.g., librarians, counselors), directors, classified staff, and administrators whose proposal(s) indicate substantial collaboration and participation from colleagues at each of the three NCHEA member institutions (CSU San Marcos, MiraCosta College, and Palomar College) may apply for a NCHEA grant.  Students may also be included as participants.
